Winter Break Sewing for Teens

  • Tuxedo Park Community Association 202 29 Avenue Northeast Calgary, AB, T2E 2C1 Canada (map)

Put the video games away this winter break!

For ages 12+

Give your teen the chance to learn and engage with something different during winter break. This December during the CBE and CCSD school closures, we are offering 2 days of sewing instruction from Calgary Sewing School's Catherine Ford, a certified teacher and expert seamstress.

Monday, December 23: 10am-3pm
Monday, December 30: 10am-3pm

Each student will have the opportunity to plan with Catherine what projects they'd like to make. We will be in touch in advance so that families can prepare patterns and shop for fabric. Project difficulty will be based on previous experience (if any). Projects could include things like a tote bag, an apron, a dress or skirt, PJ pants, etc.

Fabric, thread and patterns will be supplied by families, under the guidance of the instructor.

Tools like seam rippers, pins, scissors, etc. will be supplied at the venue.

Sewing machines can either be brought (if you have one, bring it!) or your child can use a Calgary Sewing School machine at no extra cost.

$150/day (5 hours). Register for both days for $275 - Bundle at checkout.
